Control arm bushings

Can anyone tell me if the lower control arm bushings are identical or are they two different parts (front bushing is different than rear bushing on the front lower control arm for the SR5 model)?:hatsoff:

Toyota lists different part numbers for the front and rear bushes, therefore I would say they are not the same. I do not know what the actual differences are.

They are slightly different. There is a reason there are different part numbers. When u look at the two different bushings next to each other you can tell the difference. Sorry I don't have any pictures but I just replaced them on both sides and could see they are in fact different.

I show that they are all 4 the same part number.

Wait, you mean the front control arms? I show those as being different front to back.

If this is what you mean, they are all the same, the 4 of them (2 left and 2 right).

The bushings for the front upper control arm are different from the lower ones, but still, all 4 of them uppers are the same.

48632-35080 OEM Toyota BUSH, UPR ARM

I have just replaced all 8 bushings and also both upper and lower ball joints, and man, what huge difference that makes to the ride.

That's not what I show for PN's. You listed the front lower bushing, the rear lower bushing is 35050.

Where are you finding aftermarket bushings for those? I have looked for them before but couldn't find any.

I just did my fronts and they are like Nelson said, 2 front, 2 rear with the part numbers he gave. I took to Toyota to have them pressed out and they asked me why I was replacing them since they felt they were still good. I was rebuilding my entire front end after the knuckle seperation. The lower link arms(rear axle) have same bushings both ends.

I got mine from the local carquest, their system also showed that the front and rear are the same on the lower A-Arm in the front.

This is a piece of info I really would like to figure out if I need to go to toyota and get the right bushings, i dont wanna go tearing into the front of my 4runner and then the bushings i have not work

Toyota of Dallas shows the same PN for front and rear from 99-02. No suffix

Nothing like resurrecting an old thread. Good on you for searching first. Not many do.

I have aftermarket UCA's so cannot confirm other than what's listed.

You have the option to go aftermarket if you want. Whiteline makes poly bushings for our LCAs. Here's a link:Front Control Arm Bushings - Toyota 4Runner - W53377A

He's looking for Uppers not lowers Tim. The Whitelines listed are for lowers. That's what I have installed. I'm also Using SPC uppers.

Did you notice quite a bit of increased road noise with your Whiteline bushings? I know poly always has a higher NVH level than "rubber", but it was more than I expected.

Tyler, no additional NVH but if there was I would hardly hear it. My entire vehicle has two layers of deadening plus 1/2"closed cell foam. I hesitated to use them only because Alex experienced a lot of squeaking within months after he installed his. He no longer has his rig but I believe he switched back to OEM. I lubed the he11 out of mine with Super Lube and so far so good. If I recall correctly, these are an elastomer and not a true poly.

After a summer and winter on my ES polys they have gotten super loud. I greased them up with silicon water proof lube and they finally washed out. I just live with it now.
