control arm clearance

So I'm running Toytec coil overs up front for about 2.75" of lift, and 285/75R16 won't fit.

I'm still confused what the pinch weld is, can someone post a pic of the pinch weld and why it would rub with spacers?
Gerdo beat me to it, with pictures...

I don't have a picture, but if you turn the steering wheel left, the outer edge/shoulder of the drivers front tire will get close to the rear of the wheel opening. Behind the fender liner there is a pinch weld that sticks straight forward. This is what bigger tires usually rub on first, especially if that side is also compressed (off road). You can pull the fender liner off and pound the pinch weld so that it is flat - this gives you some clearance, but usually not enough to stuff a front tire off road...which is where most get a body lift.
Or, you can bash the offending area in more with a bigger hammer, or get your tool of choice to cut away metal & reform that area for more clearance.

When you run spacers, the outer shoulder of the front tires is sticking out further so it will contact the rear of the fender opening even more/sooner.

My Duratrac 285's clear the upper control arm, just barely. But they do not rub at all. They will rub the frame at full lock and they will still hit the pinch weld area at a specific steering angle + suspension compression off road. The wife is the primary driver of our 4runner, so it's not a problem mall crawlin. Off road, I do my best to avoid the specific steering angle where the tire hits the PW area.
