Converter issues....

So....I had an independent mechanic replace the bank 2 Converter a few weeks ago, but the engine light came back on. So I decided to take it to Toyota to see what they could find. They told me that the bank 2 converter needs to be replaced.... I said that I had just replaced it. They said that I replaced #1! The independent shop got the two sides of the engine mixed up!! $600.00 later.

So, what side is bank 1 and 2???

why didnt you take it back to the original mec. and have him replace the correct one? if you paid with a credit card you can dispute the charge.

we get a lot of calls from local mechanics always asking which side is b1 or b2 when they go to replace the sensors...
