converting 2x4 to 4x4.

No idea what i did to my engine and tranny but it left parts of my bellhousing all over the highway. Since i will be having a more intimate relationship with her, i think i am going to get a front wheel drive axle, another motor(350 ?) and today bought a muncie sm465 4 speed with transfer box.

Any hints or sugestions? I have never swapped out a motor or tranny or converted front IFS to a 4x4 kit. I know ill be having some problems and probably shoot her a few times (only with a 9mm, nothing to big). Not quite sure of all the problems i will need to address like drive shaft lengths, angles, installing clutch, brake system conversions, HAS ANYBODY done this before?

Lots of guys have converted 2WD trucks. It'd help if we knew what year your truck was...

Maybe start by thinking what front axle you're going to install and how.
Then you can worry about drive shaft angles, once you have something to connect it to.

Companies like AllPro Offroad, Marlin Crawler, etc have Solid Axle Swap kits to put a solid front axle on an IFS 4x4. No reason it couldn't be used to convert a 2wd to 4wd.

To do any of this you'll need to be able to cut/grind/weld/fab and have the tools to do it.

hope you're a good welder and good at measuring and shit.

The one thing that has stopped me from SASing mine is that it's my DD, and all the horror stories of death wobble. If I wanted that, I would have bought a Jeep.
