Great idea. I think it would make more sense to drive north of SF not South. Your plan has you in SJ at 5pm and you still have to get back to SF somehow.

Taking highway 280 takes 25 minutes to get back into SF/

I grew up in the bay area (SJ) my first 18 years then later after the Navy went to UC Santa Cruz and worked in SJ. I have family that lives in Sonoma and drive up once a year at least.

For the next trip:
I'd suggest driving down to Carmel and Big Sur, or north to the redwood forests and beaches.

It should be a mellow drive, with beautiful views of the ocean, plenty of places to stop along the way, and still have time to catch up to the group if you stop at a beach to take pictures etc.... I am bringing my girlie too

My main objective is to have many stopping points to re-group and/or join in if you live in different areas. Most places we stop will have food and beverages, but I plan to bring a cooler full of beer/water or some kind of refreshment ...

I don't want to put together a list because some people are 100% and others are:

It's hard to get people to commit... Even when you plan things way in advance.

I'm def going, seeing as I put it all together.

I'm hoping a lot of Bay Area 4runners take this as an opportunity to meet some other 4runners in the area and go on a beautiful drive...




But HEY! I tried ... And I will keep trying, as long as I have a 4runner
