The opposite of the ever popular Stupid Cars Thread, welcome to the Cool Cars Thread!

You've been out driving, perhaps riding along, when a SWEET RIDE drives by. Quickly, you fumble around for your cellphone to get a picture--SNAP--awesomeness saved. Classics, projects gone right, awesome mods, or cars that should have existed in greater quantities... post what you have personally seen!

Post pics that only you or your friends have taken. Please don't post any images you've found online.

I'll start off with a few:

McLaren MP12C I saw at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Odd someone would just park and walk in with this kind of car.

Lamborghini Murcielago spotted in traffic off the 5 fwy at Lake Forest Dr.

Looks like someones gasser project. Spotted on the 405 fwy near Jeffrey.

This is a rare car I've actually never heard of until seeing this one. It's a Toyota Celica Sunchaser, with a modified top section built by Griffith, the same people who made the Toyota Pickup Trailblazer back in the early 1980s.

Mercedes-Benz 560SEC, W126 coupe. This one is kinda dirty and beat up, but these old classic Mercedes coupes made 317lb ft of torque. AMG monoblock wheels.

Supra! Spotted on 5 freeway near El Toro Rd.

The entire car was wrapped with a black brushed stainless looking vinyl. The chrome wasn't of similar taste but the car is cool nonetheless.

This truck is cool in a sentimental way. When I was a little kid, my best friend's grandfather used this truck for construction work. We played in the bed of the thing when we were in Elementary school.

He sold the truck when I was not even in middle school yet, and every now and then, I still see that thing chugging around. It had around 300k on it when he sold it.

And a newer one that looks just about the same condition... haha it's cool to see someone beating it the way it was made to be beaten

Older Nissan 200SX. Really nice condition.

Porsche Carrera GT. Retailed for $440,000 new.

Another old Celica. This one had a 20R undergoing some EGR removal, A/C removal, and plenty of new parts from LC Engineering.

Sorry about the finger. Ferrari Testarossa 512TR. Personally I'd like two mirrors but one will do I guess.

1970 VW Bus my coworker Paul picked up. Went for a ride in it, rides stellar!

A later model R107 560SL. Same motor from the 560SEC above, 317ft lb torque. Gorgeous car with little miles.

Bricklin SV-1. Yeah I didn't know what the hell it was either.

MKIV Supra SE. Apparently #4 of only 9.

My 2 faves: '55 Gasser(though it needs the 'pie crust' slicks)and the Carrera GT. The Bricklin is Canadian eh...with gull wing doors!:car:

Ha! A Brinklin! What a POS.

:lmao:

The only Bricklin I ever sat in caught on fire and burned to the axles. This is notably ironic, since the car's creator — the smooth-talking Malcolm Bricklin — didn't include an ashtray or lighter in the car, to discourage smoking. Despite its hand-removing, 100-lb. gullwing doors, the SV1 was supposed to exemplify the safer car of the future; the name stands for "Safety Vehicle 1." The bodies were made of brightly colored, dent-resistant plastic, like PlaySkool furniture. Another safety feature: incredible, crust-of-the-Earth-cooling slowness. All those resin panels and compressible bumpers added hundreds of pounds that the emissions-limited V8s couldn't handle. This thing couldn't outrun the Rose Bowl Parade. Less than 3,000 of the wedgy coupes were built, but Malcolm Bricklin was far from through, as we'll see.

And a Countach, even?

I've gotta see pics of that! :D Got any?

Ill see if I can creep a little...long driveway, gated and everything. Rarely see it. The neighbor to the east has the only Ford GT in our state AND I kid you not...a F40. Probably the prettiest car I have ever seen at a standstill and amazing in motion!

An F40?! What I'd do for either of those cars!!!
:jaw:

I know there are rules to this thread but I think we need to bend the rule for this one picture (mine and probably many other's childhood dream car):

Back on topic, I went to a car show a few months back and got to see the infamous Toyota Tundra that towed the space shuttle on display. Not really anything particularly "cool" about it, but it was fun to see it in person.

I wish I would've had a camera with me the other day--I was sitting at a stoplight and a Bugatti Veyron pulled alongside! I wasn't even sure what it was at first--I forgot the insignia is EB (for Etore Bugatti), not just a "B". I was in my sister's F-150, so I was basically looking straight down at the beast as it sat beside me--what a ride!

Saw this 56 Bel Air at La Paz Rd and Moulton Pkwy

Looks like an old Nova, but GM probably badge remarketed it and this is some random knock off.. Don't really know.
