Sorry if this is a repost, but yesterday at Pep Boys, saw a cool looking LED touch switch...no moving parts. (about $10)
It must be some sort of capacitive touch...it has a red LED for 'off' and a blue LED for 'on'.
I only did a quick bench test and it seems to work fairly well. I think it might just fit in one of the 4th gen 4Runner's empty slots...
