Coolant Flush at the Dealership

Well I went ahead and had my coolant flushed on my 2004 TR4 at the dealership last week. I have a slow leak so yesterday I randomly checked my coolant level and found that they put the "orange" stuff in there. I knew that I should have the pink SLL stuff so back to the dealership I went. I questioned the advisor and he was kinda dumbfounded. At first he tried to play it off like the orange LL stuff was "universal" and sometimes they do that. I reminded him that we specifically spoke about the SLL coolant when I originally dropped my TR4 off. Needless to say, it is back at the dealership today getting flushed again! Is there anyway to check to make sure if they actually flushed the system completely and not just drained and filled the radiator?

There is no way of totally draining out the old coolant. I assume they force out as much as they can, but you will still have orange in there. It is probably not a big deal.

The orange universal coolant is also called "chameleon coolant". I had my factory pink coolant flushed about two months ago and replaced with the orange stuff, which now appears to be pink. Go figure.

So is the only "real" difference the 60 vs 100K change interval?

I think you need to check with them to see what orange coolant they used. The whole coolant compatability issue is out of control. It was so much easier when everyone used the same thing.

it wont hurt anything..works just as well and will last just as long. even the SLL that they claim is good till 100k miles should be checked and/or replaced every 5 years regardless of mileage. you wont be able to get all of the orange stuff out of the system unless you flush it another 2 or 3 times after this one....but its a waste of coolant, its not gonna hurt anything being in there.
