coolant leak at firewall ...

Found a coolant leak and been watching it. Not losing any significant fluid, but just wondering about it as it is hot here.

Not sure how much of the heater core pipe should be exposed, so could it be something as simple as the hose needs to slide further onto the heater core pipes? Haven't wanted to mess with it, as I'm afraid breaking things loose could cause bigger issues than I can deal with now.

The hoses are probably going bad.

I would consider that a warning sign that more hoses will fail soon. They were all installed at the same time, so they're all the same age. Might want to replace all of them ASAP. Or stay real close to home.

Thanks, I figured as much but hoped ... Any secrets to swapping them out? I know some cooling systems are picky if air gets trapped in during things like hose changes.

One more thing, looking at various parts places, what two hoses are they. Long day at work, too tired to sort it out. Thanks!

I believe those go to the heater core.

I've had a radiator hose on another vehicle where the metal clamp dug a pretty good hole in the hose where it was clamped.

@BlackWorksInc would know best but I believe the system is self burping... After you change the hoses just run the system and continue to add fluid to the reservoir tank as it works the air out of the system.That is my understanding from previous coolant change threads.

Same issue fixed

Replaced my heater core had same issue just put on another clamp alls good
