Cooling system electrolysis test

Hey everyone,
Found a cool site and test to find out how acidic the coolant is in a cooling system Electrolysis in the Cooling System
I'm hoping I can save some people some future repairs.
My daily driver passed barely and the five year old coolant in the 4runner tested at .2v. I'm getting it flushed pretty quick.

Honestly, I'm surprised this hasn't come up before (even by me...) as its still an issue in modern cars. I think there's a typo in it as they're talking about a "current" of .5 (or 1/2 amp/ 500 miliamps) and then they talk about voltage which are two different things and could confuse people not familar with electrical theory.

A friend had a huge International 4x4 farm tractor around ten years ago. It blew the engine one day and the cause was electrolysis. Holes got ate into the cylinder lines and let coolant enter the combustion chamber. It cost many thousand of dollars to repair. A simple coolant change would have prevented the problem.

Thought I would post the results from flushing both vehicles. I am very happy to report that they both are at .08vdc. Dont believe the hype on the super long life coolant bottle. It isn't as long as you would think. Hehe I noticed the Zerex Asian formula is good for 5 years or 150k.
