Cooling system flush

Okay, I have green coolant in my radiator and I just bought the truck. I was going to flush the system and replace with the red.

How does one do this to get all the old coolant out? The only time I did something similar was with an old Jeep Cherokee I had and I used the prestone flush kit where you split one of the heater hoses and attach your garden hose to it. Is there any other ways?

Do I need to flush the green stuff out or is it okay? I've read that some say its fine and others say no.

Flush the green out. I also had to do mine cause it was mixed (red/green) + there was corrosion in some lines. I have to do it again cause my heater core was clogged and didn't found out till winter.
So what i did was pull drain plug from radiator, disconnect bottom radiator hose and take you thermostat out. I also disconnected my outlet hose to my heater core.
after most of coolant is out, cap ur drain plug and connect thermostat, i then used water hose to fill radiator and use lung power to blow into radiator until i see clear water coming out of heater outlet hose. It took about 10 minutes to blow out the water/old coolant. Know it sound wired, but it worked and i will be doing it again.

well, it not clogged anymore. i did manage to get green/brown muk out that was obstructing coolant from getting in the core. I plan on doing another flush again though in order to clean out system more.
