Just wanted to give a quick review on the cooper atp's from discount tire. Ive had the tires a few months now driven in various conditions heavy rain, 8'' of snow, Ice, Slush and everything in between. Very happy with my purchase.
Rain 9/10 : very good traction even in highway ruts that collect puddles. no hydroplaning at 120km/h (72 mph ish)
Snow(un packed) 9/10 : In unpacked snow the traction is amazing im guessing due to the siping. Very predictable. Able to climb fairly steep hills on un packed snow trails confidently.
Snow (packed) 7/10 : A bit of unpredictable under steer as to be expected on snow packed roads. Still leaps and bounds ahead of my prior all seasons.
Ice 7/10 : Still far ahead of my prior all seasons but on sheer ice un salted/ sanded they are still not a dedicated ice tire and it shows.
Road noise 8/10 : Defiantly louder then my prior all seasons as to be expected. Not loud by any means but the noise is still there at speeds of 30-50 mph. With the radio on at conversation volume it covers the slight tire hum they are louder then the hankook atms but thats mostly because there is no noise at all with the atms.
I would give the atp's a slight edge over the hankook atms in all conditions except road noise.
