Corner LEDs

Can anyone recommend an LED to put in my clear corners? I have white Sylvania headlight bulbs and I'm looking for something to match the color and something that is really really bright. The chrome bulbs I have in there now don't put out much light. Thanks.

Also the headlights are a little faded so they look yellowish.. I've tried lens cleaner with no luck.
Is the only way to fix that to buy new headlights?

i got mine cleared up at the dealership my dad works at. couldnt tell you how much it costs but they look brand new and have stayed that way for a year now

Go check on ebay motors and search for LEDs that replace bulb number 194 and get one that has multi LEDs.

Toothpaste? Really. I'll have to try that. I'll use the whitening kind.:p

Anybody ever use 2000 grit sandpaper?

i used to do it all the time way back when i did detailing...it works 10000x better than ANY product on the market that claims to clear up foggy lenses

Yep that'll work on a lot of stuff - cd's and video games too. But...

My 02 headlights are glass

Did the '99 light upgrade switch from plastic to glass lenses? I don't know many other cars with actual glass for headlights.

I had to get a new passenger side headlight assembly about 2 years ago when I ripped it apart after hitting a chain, and it barely looks any different than the original one that's in the drivers side

You can also use a rubbing compound. The detail shop is worked in high school used 3M brand. Also works good on small scratches in the clear coat.

All 3rd gen lights are glass so buffing won't work. The pre '99 headlamps are the frosted variety and then the '99s+ were the clear glass with the the bulbs behind a deflector.

nope, all 3rd gens have glass headlight lens.

spongerx: You can get a brand new set of headlights on ebay for about $160 and some auctions will be a package deal and come with clear corners as well.

as far as the leds go, like ron said, get one that is an led bundle of 4 or more leds. Don't go too big(more than 12) though or the bulb won't fit into the hole on your corners when your trying to install the new bulbs.

I got like PIAA super white or HID or something. (I know they aren't HID's, they just advertised them to match HIDs) They are bluer than my Silverstars. I probably wouldn't get them again.

when i installed 01-02 tails i had some extra 7440 sockets soo i got some amber led's for the corners now led's will not be as bright as a filament bulb

I got those too. Now, they are in my license plate lenses. They are cool looking in the day since they're blue when turned off, but much too purple looking at night. I recently bought a triple LED 194 from V-Leds for my corners. Claim to be white, but they're purplish too. :/

Cant get ahead!

Really Elton H? I was under the impression the LEDs are way brighter than regular bulbs.

depends, some are brighter. But when you get 1 led or a small bundle of them, they will only be bright when looking directly at them. The bulb will put out light in all directions
