corner light recall

there is a another recall for the 3rd gen 4runners, its about the corner lens, i think it said something about not being dot approved or something, anyone know more about it?

Just go look on the lens for markings.

look at the light fixture and there should be the word DOT on there.... and the word approved.

Why would there be a RECALL on this? Its not a matter of safety and why would Toyota use non-dot approved for the coner light???


There is NO recall on this as of yet.

I do wholesale for aftermarket parts such as clear corners, bumper lights, altezza tail lights, headlights, etc.... It is true that all the China manufacturers are doing a recall on all assmebly's that does not have the front orange reflectors, something about a safety concerns. The DOT has been contacting all manufacturers to recall there products, as of right now they are focusing only on the front end of the car soon enough they would do the tail light of the car. Businesses that manufacture the lights are subject to a huge fine and the possiblity of being shut down. This isn't a joke or something that will blow over.
