Cornfed Lift Kit

Those isolators are required for use with alluminum blocks. I had UNMW, so I didn't install them. It also 1/8-3/16 thick and rubber, so it would probably give ~1/4" lift, no more. That kit you see on the picture was the first of two I was running. It was also experimental one.
The kit I got is from Jason.

Nice mod! I want to get the same kind of set up you have, could you tell me how much it would cost for lifting and the Revos tires? Do you have any problems for getting in parking garage? I am living in VA and I often park my runner in the public parking garage when I go to DC. This is my main concern about lifting.

Parking - no problem, but roof rack won't fit.
Cost of the kit was $ 239us. Call Jason Burtman
Revos were $ 800cdn.
 
I know this is going to be really stupid but I assume that installing such a kit would void any factory warranty. Right?
 
Actually not. First if it void, it will void the warranty on springs (overcompressed) and shocks (overextended). Anything else, the dealer should proof that this was caused by lift kit. I was at the service couple times after installing the kit, and they didn't mentioned it (painted in black). Painting was made for less attention for service guys and for looks stock for others.

You said it was $239. That's the Burtman Industries price in USD, right? What was shipping and duty to bring it into canada?

I don't remember exactly, but it was something around $350 with C.O.D. included.
 
You may not be able to answer this on but what was the over lift you got from the ground to the skid plate?

I see you did the install yourself about how long did it take? Did you use a coil compressor? Besides the paint did you need to buy anything else for the install?

Forgive my many questions I want to lift my 4runner but I think that the $500- $600 labor everyone is asking for this is too much, and I am seeing if I can do it myself. Thanks in advance.
 
I also checked the local shop here, it cost $400 including aligment which I thought is reasonable.
 
$400-500 is way too much. There is nothing difficult with installation. It took me ~4,5 hors to do. If I'll be doing it again, I think I can make it in 3-4 hours. The only special tool you need is coil compressor. It's much easier if you do not have XREAS because you can remove front struts out from the truck.

I painted spacers prior installation, so everything else was done straight with couple wrenches, coil compressor and power tools.

I didn't measured the clearance from the skid plate at that time, but now with custom made REAL skid (still not finished) it's ~9.5".
 
I think I would do the 400.

The places around here with parts a labour it is running about 800 to 900 then you need to add the tax and alignment to that. Since I am one of those that is doing it 50/50 looks and functionality that price is a bit to high for me.

I dunno I am torn on this one... Anyway don't want to hi-jack the thread

Thanks Alex I was prety sure I could do it myself. I just need to see where to find a coil compressor.
 
Where are you located? Do you have couple friends around? If you can lend coil compressor at some mechanical shop or a friend, you can do it yourself with a help of someone. Cornfed has very detailed instructions and they are easy to follow. At leas you'll save couple hundreds for future mods. :)
 
I am Thornton, CO about 10 minutes north of Denver. I have a few friends that do install on their cars and trucks themselves. So I am checking with them to see if they have access to a coil compressor.

I'm not sure if you guys have Autozone in CO but they let you rent 'specialty' tools for free... I did a suspension lift on my Wrangler and rented a coil compressor from them. Been thinking about the Cornfed system for my 2006 T4R... Would love it if you could take some pics as you do the install.
 
I have couple pictures of installation process which I made for Cornfed when was testing some techniques for them...
