Cornfed on the way

Finally pulled the trigger on the leveling kit from Burtman, but I special ordered the 1.25" lift (5/8" spacer) instead of the standard 1" lift. Pretty excited - will post before and afters of everything.

To answer questions I know will be asked:
*I have 25k mi on my cross terrains (265/65/17) and don't plan on replacing 'til worn. At that time, 265/70s will go on her.
*Lift is for physical appearance only - not for offroading. I simply wanted to get the nose off the ground. I don't want it level with the back, just raised 1.25" in the front leaving a good ~inch of rake as desired. The standard 1" kit probably would have been fine, but I think 1.25" will be perfect for me - so why not!?!
*I went with cornfed after fully exploring different options/materials from daystar, toytec and others. I'm sure the poly works just as good as aluminum - I simply got cornfed because of the ease of ordering exactly the size I want. That simple. Americans love convenience, and I'm no exception.

Did you take any before measurements? What is your side to side variance. If you were doing a special order, you should have requested each side to have different measurements to correct for the variance.

Good question - I do have before measurements, but no I didn't order different sizes. I've read how the drivers side is a smidge lower that passenger side but I did not request different sizes for each side, had no idea I was supposed to.

I have a question about that - when people on this site order the 2/1 and 3/2 and 1" leveler does burtman send different sizes for each side of the car with whichever standard kit is ordered? If so, seems like they would do the same for a custom order. If not, then all is normal I suppose... Seems like the dist. should ask that question when customer is ordering if it is indeed the case almost every time.

No it is not something they do as standard procedure, send different sizes for each side. Each vehicle has a slightly different variance, some 1/2" some only 1/4". Most dont notice it until they start taking measurements. Yes, all is normal as you werent "supposed to" spec different measurement for each side. But if you were going to do a special order and wait significantly longer for your order, why not spec different sized and level it all out?

That is a good point. Jason said I could have it in hand before xmas so I figured that was about standard wait time. I will call them at lunch and talk to them about it. Thank you j.a.

Spoke with Burtman - they stated they don't make a right side spacer different thickness than a left side spacer if they are a 'pair'. They made a good arguement against it that I can't accurately recite, so I'll just leave it at that. So maybe it's possible to do, but they didn't recommend it nor sounded like it's anything they've done before. It was a good thing to check on though, thank you for the advice.

5/8" pair it is. Can't wait. Will post pics when they're on.

If that's ok w/ you then great. I know the side to side variance bothers me at least on paper. Doesnt really affect anything in reality. I think their response does not make sense. If someone has a side to side variance why wouldnt they want to correct it? If I were ordering a custom kit at this point, I would get two different sized kits, keep one spacer from each and sell the other mixed pair to someone with similar thoughts. Have you taken your before measurements at all 4 corners yet, if so post them up.

I ordered it on October 2, and got it december 5th, after a lot of emailing Jason B, supposedly dave from cornfed went out of town or something w/o telling anyone, so thats why it took so long...

125" is probably what I want to do to my '07 SE V6. Looking forward to your updates. same reason, daily driver w/ winter 4x4. fun times

2 thumbs up to Burtman Industries. It only took 5 business days to arrive - pretty amazing for a special ordered size (5/8"). Mad props to Jason and company. Will post pics tonight.
