Correct color for rear bumper step pad?

My wife's 2002 4Runner SR5 (her cream puff) was rear ended, and the body shop replaced the crunched corner bumper and the rear bumper step pad. The one they put on was gray. Is it supposed to be black?

They came in black from factory. I painted mine black with $5 trim paint.

Thanks! She's been driving it since 2004 and she was sure it was black, but wanted to double check before talking to body shop.
