Many of us have realized the great value offered by Costco with their Coleman (SportRack) Safari Rack. Same size and features as the Yakima LoadWarrior for only $75. It is even compatible with most Yakima accessories.
My wife and I are occasional cross-country skiers. We own our own skis and usually only go for day trips as time (as well as kids and parents) allow. Rather than try to fit the wet skis in the 4Runner I have found another great value at Costco:

They are being sold for $39.99 (including S&H). With only adding $2.62 tax and a $2.00 non-member surcharge I paid $44.61. They were delivered in four days.
Like the cargo basket, these carriers are also manufactured by SportRack in Canada (now a division of Thule).
Coleman has them on their website for $91:

They seem to be last years's SportRack design with slightly more angular lines than what they offer now. They are locking and can hold 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards (for you younger members).
While they do lock the skis, the mounts do not lock onto the roof rails. They will fit on the factory crossbars or on most cargo baskets. While not as low in profile as newer (and more expensive!) designs, their height is 5" above the roof rails.
A good value for the occasional skier who doesn't want to spend lots of $ on a ski/board carrier.
And yes, the small Coleman stickers come off easily.
