Could this be a problem?

Hey fellow t4r owners! so to start I have a 3rd gen but this a general question/concern i have, So i was doing my annual "check under the hood and do some cleaning day" today and was shocked when i saw that one of my battery caps was off and just laying to the side, I know that it couldn't have come off without someone taking it off so my thought was the oil change i had at the stealership about a month ago. ( they do their thing to check the battery) but there was no sign of any acid leaked anywhere but i looked inside the battery and it looked pretty dry from what i can see, Could this be a problem?
If it helps i have a duralast (the red one) and everything still works great, she fires right up, I'm just kind of concerned about when it starts getting cold, i don't wanna be the noob stuck in snow begging for a jump

thanks in advance

Seems like it being dry inside could be a problem. Maybe ad some RO or distilled water? And put the cap back on :D If you're worried, get it tested for free at an auto parts store, that way you can be sure.

hey thanks for that, i was surprised how many views this got and nobody replied haha. thats a good idea though i may just go get it checked

Ya no problem man. I kinds thought the same thing, which is why I replied with what little knowledge I have of batteries lol cheers!

Just a polite suggestion to avoid similar problems in the future--try doing you "check under the hood day" quarterly or weekly instead of annually. Had you noticed that cap off sooner you could have replaced it before all the electrolites evaporated. Regards, Mike

haha for sure! I cant even trust the dealership to work on my truck i guess it was a simple mistake but yeah talk about a wake up call though, but yeah im going to start doing that a lot more!
