Yes I had a rigid industries light mounted in the scoop. I always loved the way the scoop looked, and hated that it was not functional. I also wanted offroad lights, but didn't want a light bar, didn't want to just mount them on the factory bumper, and didn't want to have wires running on the roof.

Here's how to do it: LED Hood Scoop Mod - Page 6 - Tacoma World Forums

Not my video, but this is how good it is: Toyota Tacoma Hood Scoop LED - YouTube

It's easy. It's awesome.

did you mount behind the mesh, in front of the mesh, or do the cut out of the mesh???

You have to mount it under hood behind the mesh. I removed the mesh altogether; just worked better for my application. Read the right up and you'll see how it needs to be done. Took me about 2 hours to install including some adjustments to how I wanted to mount it. I'd still like to figure out a more secure mounting system so I get less light vibration while offroading.
