***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***

2004 LIMITED Bought it with 127k no cracks. Put a dash cover on it when @ 127k. Even with the Dash cover I have cracks running along the top of the gauge panel, now @ 227k. Kills me I look at it every time I drive it.

Bring it in to the dealer and get yourself a new dash :thumb: The repair is regardless of miles I believe. All the dealership has to do is take some pictures and wait for approval from Toyota. Once its approved they order the part and from there its a waiting game, some have had to wait two weeks, others 2 months.

Got my call yesterday after two months of waiting. Dropped the car off in the morning and after two hours i get a call "we have taken your dashboard out but bad news,we ordered the wrong part " fml:gun5:. I'm back to square one now. Thanks Toyota of Tustin, CA

^ same exact thing here. I had to wait 7 weeks after the 'wrong dashboard' appointment and my 'right dashboard' (and that's scheduled for next week so I'm crossing my fingers it comes in). GL.

YES 2003 is completely covered - Mine is a 2003. They inspected mine and order dash 2 weeks ago. You have until 2017 to get cracked dashes replaced.

Will the dealer still cover this if I have an 03? I was told it only covers up to 10 years.

Yes, go for it. I'm still waiting here in the Carolina's for mine to get replaced. It's been about 4-5 months now and no parts... Had it inspected, but still waiting............. :-(

Yep. They're moving slow as molasses with these things.

Had my new dash installed on Friday. I didn't have any letters or case number. Just took it in, and they ordered the dash. A few weeks later, it's done and looks great. This was at Fred Haas Toyota in Tomball/Spring, TX (Houston).

I'm planning on having mine done at Tustin Toyota too - they called last week to say my dash was in. Can I ask who your service rep there was? Also what color was your dash top, and do you have the part number that they ordered? My dash is black on top and tan on the lower half (2003 SR5 with the tan colored interior) and I'm a little confused because some are saying the only color choices are grey or fawn... Did they get it corrected yet for you? Any insight would be appreciated.

Mine was replaced last week. Black.

Can you possibly post the part number for the Black dash? Mine is Black too and I want to make sure I'm getting the right one. Others are saying they are only remaking Grey or Fawn and neither of those colors sound right to me... Thanks

Jimsgen4,

This is what the invoice lists for parts. Perhaps the "-B1" is the key? Good luck!

How do I get one of these letters if I just bought this car a few months ago?

I've got a nice long crack on mine and a few elsewhere and would like to get it fixed for free. :)

Supposedly Toyota should send you a letter somewhere between when your vehicle was sold/registered under your name and the end of the CSP somewhere in 2017. (I'd like to say I'm being a bit factious, but honestly I have no idea how "on top" they are about getting letters out to recently changed owners.)

That being said, since you asked so nicely to abuse the system and get your "cracked" dash replaced for free (I know you just scribbled on it with a Sharpie young man! )

I made this thread to cover all the information you could possibly want regarding the dashboard CSP. :)

Just call Toyota dealer. I had no letter either. Had mine replaced 3 weeks after I purchased my 05.

Ditto. The letter is just a notification tool, not some kind of ticket required to get the job done. VIN + visual inspection = new dash.
