***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***

I've had mine ordered since November. Funny thing is, they have called me twice to tell me it's in. One time I dropped it off after they told me it was in and set an appt. only to get a call back a few hours later saying sorry it's not really in. Last week they called me saying it was in then called back an hour later saying false call it's not in. I know the guys at this dealer really well since I worked with most of them for years. The parts department is the ones messing up. They said they have not been able to get any dashes in lately. So the wait continues. The PO that I bought from had a dash on order for 3 months before I bought it. I told him to call me when he got a call. He still has not got a call...

I had the same deal, dropped it in, even had a loaner for the day. 20 minutes later they called and said its not really in after all. I'm 9 months in. Took in in originally in August. I call to check periodically, and they say maybe in the next 6 months.

New Dash

Got mine put in beginning of May but now I have issues with the mileage calculator. Was sitting at 420+ every time I filled up but now indicates about 340 last time I topped off. I don't use it to keep track of gas, but I've grown used to it being more accurate. Having put 184K miles on the car, you kinda get used to things working a certain way... Anyone have any ideas?

Ordered mine October 15th, 2015. It finally came in April 20th, 2016. For some reason S/E Toyota dealers have not been able to get quick delivery. I heard it's because there were so many people out there affected by the problem. Mine's in but not without follow-up issues (missing screws, dash not put back together correctly, etc.) so make sure you give it a thorough inspection and make sure you tell them if there's anything wrong.

Dropped by Expressway Toyota In Dorchester MA. they took photos and are sending to Toyota for approval. my crack is in one long line right above the instrument cluster looked awful for years, hopefully Toyota approves it! The dealership did say that there was going to be a pretty long wait since the item is back ordered, I dont mind though as long as its fixed some time in the next few months.

So start to finish it took about 2 months from having the dash looked at and having them install it today. The new dash looks great and it couldn't have been less painless. Sure it took a bit to have Toyota approve our car and then order the part but once it came in last week they got it right in and the zero charge was pretty great too! Thanks for the great thread!!

Dropped of the t4r at 8am, was done by 930am. Service rep. said the tech 'likes' doing this and is really good at it.

looks good, no complaints so far. the whole process took nearly 6 months from order to replacement.

Got my appointment set for tomorrow morning, fingers crossed they don't call me after I drop it off to say there was a mistake and they don't actually have the dash!

I just dropped mine off at the dealer and am sitting in the lobby waiting for the dash to be installed. Assuming everything goes alright and there wasn't a mistake made about my dash being in, this would be about the fastest turn around for a dash being received and replaced I've seen on this thread--13 days!
:jaw:

Just want to say thanks for having this thread for the dash replacement as I would have never known about it. I bought a 2004 4runner almost 2 months ago and went to my local Kearny Mesa Toyota in San Diego with an appointment for it about 3 weeks after buying it. Service was great and then I waited 3 weeks and got a call saying the dashboard is in. Made an appointment in the next two weeks for it being installed. Total time was about 5 weeks from ordered parts to when it should be installed. Hopefully all goes well. I'll update this post when it gets installed.

Greetings,

I had mine done in October of last year but i had to wait like 2 months.
They did a good job except they didn't reconnect the wire to the hazard light switch and i've been wondering eversince then why it wasn't working on last weke and i ventured and took apart the climate control panel to find the switch disconnected. SMH.
Hope you guys get yours soon.

Ordered dash in October. Called Ft Walton Beach Toyota other day and they said they were JUST NOW getting in dashes for those ordered in August! I've been waiting 9 months.

After I got my 4runner back, everything looked great, but turns out the front driver side speakers weren't working anymore. Once I started taking everything apart to fix the speaker issue, I started finding missing bolts and broken plastic, not to mention a smashed RCA cable.

What dealer did you order yours through? I submitted my order with Cox Toyota out of Burlington, NC back in August. They said the terrible wait times where due to "material shortage". So im going on around 10 months of wait time at this point.
