Cracked Upper FR Shock Mount

Been a lurker for awhile just reading and learning. I did 99 tall coils front and rear along with Bilstein 4600's today on my daughters 97 4Runner (SR5 4X4) and found a crack on the top shock mount on the front right (see pictures). As if the install wasn't a PITA enough, I am somewhat concerned about this. We bought this from a family tat has had it for 16 years and they bought it as s salvage title due to it being wreaked. My thought is that this is something from that wreak years ago since I don't think that it has ever been off road.

So, since this is welded to the frame, are the thoughts that the crack could be welded, or will this have to be cut off and a new piece welded on. Suggestions where to take it is central San Diego area? Safe to drive?

Just weld it. The shock buckets aren't heat treated or anything so just go to town on them.

Thats what I was thinking when I saw the pics, Just run a welder along the crack and seal her up.

Thanks for the input. I don't have a welder myself so I need to find someone here in San Diego. I assume the best approach would be to pull the strut and weld from both top and bottom side.
