Yup, this! We see if a lot at work too... alum mfg. Alloy, temper, and bend radius. Thicker material needs a larger bend radius (wider press brake die) to avoid this. But, I'd consider it a cosmetic blem since you are only going to be supporting a couple hundred pounds at best on that rack.
Yeah, that's the general consensus I am getting from a few of the local metal shops. One was pretty surprised it wasn't cleaned up a little because it looks bad and doesn't instill confidence in the rack. I was a little nervous about it because we have a 4 person RTT and didn't want to get out in the desert and have it snap. Feeling better about it from all the replies here. Now if I could jus get them to reply...
