Cranks but no spark

I have a problem with my 02 v6 4runner, okay some back round, truck ran great, daughters boyfriend was installing a remote starter on it for my wife, he comes in to the house to tell me that the batt is dead, okay I can jump it, it would only crank not start, I checked for fule pulse at the injecters, working fine, I pull a plug wire and no spark, I had the boy check and re-check what he did, still no spark, okay so I say remove everything that you did, still no spark, Oh and yes I did check all fuses, all are good, he had a code reader and it would not link up to the PCM, could he have shorted out the computer?, could it be the key sensor? I even disconectet the factory alarm system, I think that I'm really stuck, if anyone knows of something that I might have missed I would sure like to know, it's my wife's truck, and to say the least she is not happy that I now will have to tow it to a dealer.

You sure it has a key sensor? My 02 doesn't. It sounds like he might have fried the PCM if everything else is checking out.
