Crawford Eco Block

I can't believe this snake oil thread is still going on. Their own explanation for why it works is just nonsensical jargon:

Familiar with a cold air intake? Those increase the volume of the intake, subsequently pulling the sensor out of the air stream. The Eco-Block does the same exact thing, but does so by utilizing a spacer to pull the sensor out of the air stream. The benefits you receive with the Eco-Block vs. a cold air intake:
- A fraction of the price: $50 vs. hundreds.
- Maintains smaller intake volume, maintaining air velocity. The larger volume from an aftermarket cold air intake slows the air down, creating lag.
- Keeps the stock air box / intake in place, which keeps your car smog legal and warranty safe.
- Does not require a tune to maximize it's performance.


I'm all for members posting results, but in would seem appropriate for the Mods to ban the actual snake oil seller from this site. It is only helping him reel in more suckers.

Here are the final results comparing the MPG with the Crawford Ecoblock and running the 4Runner Stock. Big thanks to [MENTION=152509]ayeyothisiskyle[/MENTION] for taking my data and putting it into a spreadsheet! Kyle - if you want to link the spreadsheet to this thread feel free to do so, I couldn't get it done and just made it into a pdf.

Did your fuel mileage increase the same 5% after re-installing the Eco Block onto your Truck? Also did you notice the increased torque?

Toyota of Escondido has been doing some extensive testing of our Eco Block Fuel Saver on many of their personal vehicles using the "in-house dyno" at their Motorsports facility, and they were impressed enough with the results to become a dealer for this product.

I was actually there when they did all the testing... so I have seen all the data first hand. Go ahead and give them a call or stop by their facility... nothing better than a nice face to face conversation.

Gobmint (CARB) won’t waste their time as it does nothing... ECU compensates with trims...and hence we will never hear anything official.

To answer your second question, the data should be made available by the individual making the claim when the claim is made. Would you like to go back and determine what claims you have made and then present your data to back up those claims, or will you continue to rely upon snake oil anecdotes? The onus remains with you! I'm sure you can cherry pick

It is quite simple. I am actively attempting to get words out of your mouth that are factual and scientifically verifiable with repeatable tests/results. I'm not looking for unrelated anecdotes about what you have and haven't done on other parts of the planet. I'm looking for data that back-up your claims related to the 'Crawford Eco Block'. If that is your definition of a 'troll', then so be it.

The stock ECU is designed to handle variation is temperature, pressure, humidity, fuel, manufacturing tolerances, and assembly tolerances. Feel free to present data that shows your device can trick the ECU after two tanks of fuel (or some other method that you believe is acceptable).

In the mean time, keep peddling the snake oil!

Is it foolishness or fraud? That's what we're mostly trying to sort out. We all know it doesn't work. The question is whether YOU know it doesn't work.

You still have no validated testing to date. They cost about 50 cents to make right? And you sell them for $30. It doesn't take very many to cover the cost of going to a real testing center. If you actually believed what you claim you'd have a 3rd party test done. If you ever reach a point where you actually do believe it works - get some testing done and publish it.
