Well we have 2 4th gens, hers is the black 2007 2wd V8 kid hauler and mine is the Red 2005 V8 4wd Sport. The build will be on the Sport since nothing will happen to the SR5.

She had 105000 when I bought her so I changed the timing belt, water pump,
plugs, coolant, and WS drain and refill. Pretty easy to do the second time, the Black one had it done at 40k since it's water pump leaked.


First mod was a little plasti dip and blacked out the headlights. This was also the first camping trip with it. She drove great and never put it 4lo even with the dunlops.



I scored some FJ springs and 255/75/17 BFG MTs for less than $700 for all of it. Just had to put in the work.



Here's little more plasti dip, LED tails, and another camping trip to break in the springs and tires. Having a blast so far with this SUV.




Next mod with be adjustable Bilsteins once the Xreas quits on me

Scored these off craigslist for $20. They have the same mileage as the Sport so I'm thinking I'll put in the Tacoma springs in the Sport and move the FJ front springs to the SR5. The SR5 is so low to the ground, it's embarrassing. The FJ springs had 30k when removed and the SR5 only has 55K on it now.

Once the Xreas craps out I can put in the Bilsteins, oh course gotta change the lower bushing.

Any thoughts?

Got the Tacoma springs in and got another 3/4". Rides great.


The FJ springs went into SR5 and that rides great too. Heres a comparison of the FJ spring, Sport spring, and the 2wd SR5 spring. Shows why speedbumps made the SR5 bottom out.

Found a Volant on craigs for $50.00, a few mods to it to make a "true" cool air intake and the throttle response is much better. The sound is nice too. Butt-dyno approved!

Made a few changes to the red 4runner. OME 885's up front and some gun metal FJ 8hole revolvers. The bilsteins are on the lowest setting.

Some OME 895 are in route and will be going in the rear.

Lol! My secret is that I'm in the Phoenix area & my folks live in San Diego. I search craiglist everyday and my Dad will grab the deals in SD and deliver them when they visit.

Yes unfortunately I'm in the midwest and my parents are less than half an hour away. I guess I just need to move farther away!.

I finally got the rear OME springs in. The height and stance are just what I wanted.

I was doing some work in the garage and took some pics of our fleet. The tacoma is a project in progress. The shell needs body work and paint. Wish I had more time. It also has a Garvin rack. The RX 330 and black SR5 just got new tires. The only mods those rides get.
