cup holder upgrades

I'm not sure where the thread is but someone on here is about to 3-D print a new sized insert to make it easier to hold smaller items like water bottles

I just want to add to this thread that those cup holder inserts with the adjustable arms are like $30 - $50 to replace... WTH??

Adutchguy Wow, an 09 thread raised from the dead! Better than starting a new one haha

I'm gonna leave this here: Tin's Cup Holder Insert

One of the first things I bought, and one of my favorite things....why pay $50 to replace the crappy centerpiece, when you can buy one of these that are the best solution in my mind, as it was custom created for our 4th gens.

To bad he hasn't been active in a while.

dustxking huh, I did pick mine up this time last year. it says he's been on in like the last week, but I also see that he hasn't responded in that thread (only saw him get tagged in it once).... maybe he's said and done with making them? Kid is a college student, so he could just be busy with that given the time of the year, or something happened to his 3D Printers...

Maybe if he's done making them, he'd share the file with people to print on their own.

Found this.. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/tintoy They aren't on there but, maybe you can try to message him there? :noidea:

Probably a minority here but I am enjoying the cup holders. My water bottle is a 40oz hydroflask and it fits perfect.

Yep, I have the Camelback 40oz stainless, insulated water bottle and my 4Runner is the ONLY vehicle that we have that it actually fits in! I get annoyed with my wife’s Camry because I can’t even fit my smaller, uninsulated plastic Camelback 32oz in the cupholders. They may not be perfect at everything, but they are way better than most cars which can only hold a small Dixie cup!

I must be in the very small minority of people who like the factory cup holders lol. They fit my 32 oz. Nalgene bottles perfectly!

I looked at this but it seems pricey. Ended up buying a couple of these in the large size.

Arrived yesterday and they fit perfect as is - but come with sticky foam tape pieces in case you need to firm up the fit. I typically have an RTIC 26oz water bottle that I always had to hang on to around turns to keep it from falling into passenger wheel well. Not today! Stuck the bottle in the docker and it stayed there. Easy in, easy out, very little movement.

I'm a happy camper for <$25 (for two). Order to arrival in under a week.

Large was the right size for the 4R front cupholders? Can you post a pic of them installed?

Yup, large is perfect - it fits snugly into each holder and doesn't pull up at all when grabbing the container for a sip of refreshment while driving. Fits different shaped items as you can see.
