Custom Cup holder interest

Long time no post, life got busy.

Long story short, I’m in manufacturing. Looking at different things I can bring to market. I am looking at making a custom cup holder similar to the one on Etsy here
etsy.com

But from aluminum - and anodized black. The problem lies in pricing as it seems most don’t want to part with more than $30 for something like this. I could make a short test batch run but I would hate to make them and not sell any so I thought I see if there is even interest here.

What are your thoughts as a group?

Ps. still have my t4r approaching 300k in the next month.

I have a black 3D printed version of the insert from the etsy link. Doesn't look pretty, but works great. Makes the cup holders actually work as cup holders as opposed to the OEM part.

What's the benefit of aluminium instead of plastic?

“Doesn’t look pretty” exactly. The black ano aluminum would look like it was there all along. Something a bit nicer than 3d printed.

The bigger issue is getting the cost down. I need to do a minimum of 50 or the cost of the anodizing is ridiculously expensive.

This forum is a great start, but to get a group buy make sure to post plans and design so people can see.
Also Instagram or Facebook 4runner pages would also be a good place to hit to get a minimum order started.
