current set-up

I've been the owner of a 2001 sr5 4runner for about 3 months and I love it so far. I've been looking at upgrading the suspension so I decided to crawl under and see the current set-up. My runner has 265/75/r16 tires which I think is bigger than stock. The rear shocks are skyjacker nitro 8000s and the rear coils have color code blue/yellow and are 6/7 wrap. The front coils are driver: red/yellow, 8 wrap. Passenger: yellow/white, 8 wrap. Both front shocks are toyota made with part numbers 48510-35100.

If any one can help me out with figuring what this all means as I am fairly new to 4x4 suspensions. Thanks.

if u have some pictures that may help bc if im not mistaken, 4runner stock coils also have color codes on them. Depending upon which year model u have, 265/75/16s can fit under stock 4runners especially if they are 4x4.

most likely stock suspension, with skyjacker shocks, or some sort of lift from skyjacker. I have never heard of a lift from them.

any ways. Old man emu is a good starting point for a lift and shocks.

here are the pictures, hopefully they help. its a 2001 sr5 with 4 wheel drive.

look like its stock height... they may have just added the slightly larger tires and removed the running boards to make it look taller.

I was thinking it was stock height, but mine looks taller than some other local runners. In replacing parts I've been doing some research and have some questions. A lot of you guys run OME shocks and coils. Is anything else needed to make those work, or can you just put them on and go? I've been on the Sonoran Steel website and there's an OME accessory kit, do I need to get that if I'm not going to lift it hardly at all?

Anyone running the System 3 suspension from Sonoran Steel?

Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for the help.

there is no need for all the extras.

i wheel my 4runner hard almost every week. I have the Ome 891 springs and the comfort valved shocks. I have no issue with brake line problems etc.

I also have no swaybars or bumpstops in the rear and no sway bar in the front. so i have no need for all the accessories. But if you want them most of sonoran's products look well built

well urs might be a little taller bc the original owner might have changed out ur stock coils for some taller ones such as the '99 coils and got a slightly larger tire size.

Im currently running the OME setup and all u NEED is the coils and shocks to start running tho u may want to get a panhard drop bracket or adjustable panhard bar tho it is not necessary... since urs is 4wd ull need the diff drop also.
