I would consider some other ones out there too, the Currie one isn't real durable from what I've heard. My brother bought and test-fitted his on his FJ but I don't remember the brand but it is more race-truck grade. Also, look into Genright.

8 years going on my Currie RJ3 and this is a tank of a axle and worth every penny IMO

what length arm did you end up going with? i know i need the 50" torsion bar but wasn't sure about the connecting arm length. If you have any good photos of where you mounted it that would be great too! Thanks man! Specifically interested in the AnitRock setup not the axle.

He has the TK1 rock crawler sway bar kit, it's their 'weakest' sway bar for maximum articulation. I can ask more details later if needed.
He hasn't mounted it, only mocked it up but there isn't a lot of room to mount it he might be drilling a hole through his frame to put the bar through.
The Genright one is pretty expensive but I'm sure its nice too.

I have been talking to currie now and all they offer for us is their universal kit. At least that is what they say. I've got several articulation measurements I need to do to determine arm length and just wasn't sure what that dimension needed to be (kind of stuck for the next week or so with the truck up on stands, getting the new TC sway bar for my mid travel front suspension setup and needed to do some maintenance up front first).

Yea I called them and they specifically told me that this won't work with my truck...not sure they why but from what I remember they seemed to be talking from experirence.

I think it's because the FJ has an 1.5" wider track width.

The track width increase is from the FJ's wheels, so if you had aftermarket wheels you should be able to fit the sway bar.
Also, the 4Runner's spare tire is probably in the way, but if you relocated it, it should fit.

Yea really just based on frame width is all that matters not the track width. I have both aftermarket (SCS) wheels and no spare under. I will try and call them again to see why they think it won't fit. My initial call was about two weeks ago right in the beginning of the research phase...

FJ axle is the same as the 4Runner axle.
Maybe asking Currie is the wrong way to go, maybe All Pro knows more?

Well I guess I've been ALL wrong in my assumptions, emphasis on ASS. The track width for the 4th gen is listed as 62", the 5th 63", and the FJ 63.4". I've never bothered to measure WMS on either of these two rigs when I've had the chance. SMDH. Is the 8.2 in the 5th gen the same housing and wms to wms on the 4th gen? Just a different 3rd? Still learning shit everyday lol.

Same WMS, but not the same housing, takes a 8.2 housing to mount the 8.2 gears but the bracketry is all the same. The FJ's got upgraded to the 8.2 in 2010 but pretty sure they are all the same WMS width across the years. I would say variation is due to wheel backspacing.

Yes, I would think that track width wouldn't depend on the wheel you run. So when Toyota publishes a track width in their literature it depends somewhat on what wheel they supply and as an owner what wheel you may opt to put on later. Backspacing determines track width apparently. I would think they would use wheel hub mounting face for consistency but don't think they do.

So I just spoke with AllPro and got the specs on their current setup for the FJ AntiRock. The dimensions between the mounting holes is 40.8" (mounts to frame). There are two holes on the frame on each side close to the crossmember that supported the tire carrier that measure pretty darn close to the 40.8". The only thing I won't know is the length of support rod so I'm going to just buy the 14" and the 10.5" long rod just incase. Currie has some pretty specific install requirements for what connection rod length to get. I will pull the trigger tomorrow on this and keep you all posted. Hopefully it is mostly a bolt on connection and it won't be too painful to figure out the rod connection length.

I'm very interested in how this turns out. Adding a rear sway bar setup has been on my To-Do list for a long time. I looked into some possible options awhile back, but never followed through. I really wanted to run the torsion bar through the frame to tuck it up under the truck as much as possible, but I couldn't find a torsion bar that is the correct length (I vaguely recall needing about 47"). Having it hang down below the frame isn't ideal, but I may have to go that route since I now have reservoirs mounted where I had envisioned the bar coming out of the frame.

So, it came today! Anxiously unpacked it and mocked it up and sure enough it fits! I will be getting installed this weekend as well as the new TC sway bar for their mid travel 2” setup. So excited to have some road manners soon!
