custom fiberglass sub box in work

Nice job. I wish I had the time to build a custom sub box. How many hours did it take to build?

Check out SoundGate LOC's at Amazon. They have one that taps into the rear speakers.

I'm thinking of making a mount out of fiberglass for my back-up camera. This will be my first time working with fiberglass, so what stuff would I need and where could I purchase them?

Thanks for the responses. It took a while to make it. Months, but I only worked here and there. I bet a solid 30 hours though by the time I am done. I fully understand now why shops charge so much for them.

I have some how-to files regarding how to make fiberglass enclosures. If you are interested them PM me with your email address and I will send them to you. They were online but I pdf'ed them before the host took them down.

To make it all you really need is fiberglass cloth, resin, and hardener. You will need some disposable paint brushes, disposable latex gloves, and a respirator too. DO NOT do it without a respirator. I forgot to wear it once and was woozy in about 5 minutes.

For a rear camera mount you might only need a quart of resin. For this box I needed most of a gallon.

I would try to explain the process but it is very lengthy, so like I said, just PM me.

You might look into the Pioneer Premiere head unit that came in some Scion cars. I believe it has sub preouts, but don't quote me on it. Plus its plus-and-play just like the other Scion head units. Just a thought.

nice job man! i bought one of the Q-Logic boxes for my old '02 4Runner and that thing was a piece of crap. your box looks and i'm sure SOUNDS much better.

i used to be a bass head (i'm now 35) and i think the factory JBL system has enough kick for my low-end fetish. i do miss the thunder sometimes though...

Not sure how it compares yet in sound. I cant wait to get it hooked up. My wife and I are both training for the MS150 (180 mile bike ride to raise money for muscular sclerosis) so we are both so busy that I barely have time to pay any attention to this. Just 2 more weeks to go though...

Thanks for all the compliments on it.
