Custom Light Bar

Here are the close-up photos of my light bar. I have yet to get back to the maker to make a new one to the new design. Since this one works fine, I am not as motivated.

The new bar will have the flat bar stock at the same location as the 4Runner bumper mounts. That way, another 90 degree flat piece can be easily bolted to the light bar and the bumper bolts.

Anyway, you can see how the temporary brackets hold the flat stock in place.

With the next one, I will take the time to have Line-X coat it. This spray-on truck bed liner has worked fine, and is probably tough enough to take the long term abuse. It is just that the Line-X can be color matched. I think that a white light bar would be cool.

As much off-roading I am going to be doing, I may have all the trim plastic, and bumpers, Line-Xed. As long as the color is matched well, it should not look any different then stock. But with the solid color Line-X, weed and stick scratched should never be noticable.

Maybe I will end up with the durability of the 2003 unpainted trim, with the more popular aspect of the solid color look.

Good shots. That is what I needed to see. I couldn't figure out where you have bolted the brackets to. I had actually thought about mounting mint the the same place, except on the top with them coming straight out through the front bumper, through the slots in the lower part. This way the light would be down in front of the bumper instead of on top. Thanks for the shots.

RL, Can you send me a picture, or the link to a picture, of what the front looks like w/ the bar & lights installed. I've been searching but I'm probably overlooking it somewhere. I think you've accomplished exactly what I want to do.

While the Lightforce lights are nearly unbreakable, I live in an area where many park by feel. In back they can first feel my trailer hitch. In front, I would not want them to first feel my expensive lights.
