I worked at LC engineering in the past for 3 years. The 3.0 never caught on with them mainly because of all the head gasket problems those engines had. They are mainly into 4 bangers. They do have high performance cams for the 3.4 but they use reground stock cam cores. Even on the 3.4 engines the dyno power was not what was expected even after major porting etc. One 3.4 blew up on the dyno.

Dang, that suck's. I know LC make's header's for the 3.0

I personally think that the 3RZ is a better platform with forced induction. I plan to turbo my 3RZ someday, and use LCE's turbo manifold.
 
Ha, that's why i'm asking.

DOA is LC engineerings competitor. They have fewer products and are usually lower cost. Both of them use junkyard engines and rebuild them when you order a engine so a lot of it depends on the core you get. Some are pretty natsty when they start out. Neither company grinds their own cams. They are ground to their specs by a outside vendor.
 
The 3RZ 4 banger can make major turbo power and survive.

Heard bad things about the timing belt/guide setup, but that's about it.

I hope to run a good 250hp. I see many have run this amount of power on stock motors. I want to run just an LCE CNC turbo manifold, Garrett T3 or T4 turbo, and fuel management. I've heard people have done this with pretty much stock motors. What would recommend I do?

I don't know what PSI I'd run for a good 250 to the wheels. I figured 10 PSI would be a practical number to shoot for?

I've also see the balance shaft removal kits, but I figure on my DD, I'd rather not. I mean, they must be there for a reason. The 15hp gain sounds delicious though! :hungry:

The balance shaft removes the normal vibrations you get on 4cylinder engines. It was removed on all race engines. Several years ago we had a drag race customer, Chris Rado that used LCE 3rz engines. With a modified stock block it would make 1400 hp. The parts are in the LCE catalog. Talk to LCE about the boost pressures etc. LC Engineering

Don't plan on buying a motor, i was looking at cam's.

Not to beat it into the ground, but I sent my heads to him for porting,$1275 plus shipping both ways using my heads.They were supposed to be turn key, but the valves were out of adjustment specs, had to adjust them, not a big deal, but for that kind of money i expected them to be in spec. Secondly I had My throttle body bored out using my throttle body with a almost new TPS and got one from his inventory, that happened to have a bad TPS. I'm kinda sketchy about the parts because there were shavings from the machine work on the throttle body, but will keep you posted. I know porting on the 3.0 will not make up for its shortcomings but headers, EGR delete, bored throttle body, cool air intake, should give me a few more ponies. I wish I would've went 3.4 though.
