I have an 08 sport, I stumbled upon this wiring harness in the D pillar and wanted to know what it is and what I can hook up to it. (see pic)

Is it 12 V DC? or is it an audio cable?

Thanks in advance!

The 10 speaker JBL Synthesis system has speakers in place of the mirrors, my guess it that wiring is one of the speaker connectors.

That's what I originally thought, however... the connector is only on the driver's side. There is nothing in the pass. side.

i tried a mutlimeter to this

i tried a mutlimeter to this. no such luck, no voltage even with the radio blasting.

any other ideas?????

If it is the harness connector for the rear JBL speaker option, which I think is right, you wouldn't expect to have any output on the connectors unless you had the JBL (or other radio system) which was able to connect to the rear harness. I believe that if you have the standard radio system, these wires are not connected to the radio at all, hense no output.

It really doesn't look like a speaker harness, but I'm not sure. I have speakers in that location though.

They are actually the connectors for the speakers. I know your photo does not show that same connector on the passenger side pillar but it should be there. It may just be lower in the pillar as both side in my limited with the JBL system have the same connectors.

Here are some pics

I see your point, which makes sense given no voltage even with the radio blasting.

I looked further into the pass pilar and I still didnt see the adapter, but from your pic its clear that this is the speaker connect. Thanks for the info & pics. :thumb3:
