I've been wanting a D-Ring hitch since I bought my 4Runner and finally found one in town and cheap! Looks a lot better and bigger in person! It's on sale for $8.99 but I had a coupon to make it $5.99 LOL AWESOME!!!!!! :welcome:

I went to harbor freight twice with the intension of buying that but both times I couldn't get myself to buy it. It just looked so cheesy.

I ended up getting a $40 one from 4wheelparts. Both would probably work fine though.

I bought the D-ring receiver from 4wheelparts and have used it to pull guys out several times, mostly Jeeps - LOL. It works great.

What is that, two 1/4" or 5/16" tabs held on with butt welds? No way.

The ones I make and the ones I've seen that are high quality (i.e. Warn et al), have the d-ring tab the full thickness of the d-ring throat and are solid metal all the way back to past the 5/8" hole for maximum strength.

Mine is from Warn and is solid all the way through - and pulling out means just from stuck in mud situations on flat land, not any serious recovery. I have a winch for that.

I picked one up at the local Harbor Freight in MEM for $9.82, tax and ALL.

I am amazed at the quality (rated for 10,000 lbs) for such a low price. Probably worth a good $40.

so this may be really flawed logic, i threw a tow strap right on the lone hitch pin and used that before.. the pin has to hold that in the receiver so in theory shouldnt it be strong enough to handle the load on the pin itself?

You run the risk of severing your strap with the limited side-angle you get without the ring.

For $9, how can you go wrong.
