D ring mounting?????

Hey I was wondering where is some good places to mount some d rings with stock bumpers.... Any help?

The stock bumper is nothing more than flimsy sheet metal. Behind it is the frame with some brackets. If you can do some fabricating and welding then you can make some d-ring mounts. OR... you can go to Addicted Offroad is a full service Parts, Sales, and Fabrication company offering offroad parts for all makes and models, Addicted Offroad and buy a nice tube bumper that has some d-ring mounts.

There is no options for mounting them to the bumper, but you cant get d ring mounts for the front to replace the stock tow hooks mounted to the frame under the front valance. SDORI makes them for around $100 a pair. But trackdecals.com sells them for $75 a pair and they look better in my opinion. Hope this helps some.

What year is your truck? On the first gen you can cut holes in (or take off) the valance underneath the bumper and bolt or weld your mounts straight to the crossbar. I don't know if that's an option on the second gen.

Should be possible on a 2nd gen. Not a bad idea really. Sleeper look.. Might still want to brace that crossmember if your going to be pulling hard off it.

You can also make a bumper pretty cheap. Getting the TG winch mount then building off of it is an easy option.

I guess you don't want to use the tow hook. But that is a place to put a dring mount instead.

The trail gear winch mount easily bolts to the frame. And provides a front receiver right in the center instead of being pull from the side or having to reach under the truck. And well it is a winch mount too. It has worked extremely well for me. But i've welded a reinforcement plate behind it. Chrome bumper is still there. Sort of. I like the stockish sleeper look.

In the rear if you dont have a hitch receiver, i used 4xinnovations bumper bracket. I welded a angle from side to side to the brackets. Cut a notch in the stock bumper for the bracket to stick out. Again, sleeper look.
