DAC Controls??

This has been buggin me for some time and I thought I would ask, All the paperwork shows that my Trail Edition has DAC (Downhill Assist Control), I have no button though. I did try the Crawl control once and the indicator on the instrument panel that has the suv on a hill came on. Is DAC a part of the crawl control or what?

Do we also have Hill Assist Control on these or is it just the Stability Control kicking in? When I start out on an incline, if the 4runner is in D and then it starts to roll backwards, the Stability makes the funny noises and apply's the brakes a little, not enough to fully stop the 4runner from rolling backwards though.

Both of these options (DAC & HAC) require the use of button's in my friends 2007 4Runner, so I was just curious, thats all. I know the trails don't list HAC as an installed option, but they do list DAC I think.

My Trail has not yet arrived, but I assume that the DAC on a Trail is activated using crawl control.

On the TE crawl control is the replacement for DAC (going down). The TE still has HAC (going up), and that functions automatically. I believe it should stop you from going backwards, but it may depend on how steep the hill is etc.

I might be way off base here as I do not have a 2010 4Runner. However, in my Rav4, HAC is activated by pressing down further on the brake pedal after coming to a complete stop. You will hear a beep and the VSC light will flash showing that the system is active. When you release the brake, you have like 5 seconds before it turns off. I do not know if the 4Runner is the same, but it might be.

That's nice. I regret not waiting for the 5th gen 4Runners. Thanks for posting those videos.
