This summer I made probably the worst mistake I've made in any car deal I've had. I thought I wanted a cheaper car, so I traded my 2010 4R TE for a 2013 FR-S. The car is ok, except for the camshaft timing issues which are plaguing current owners. However I am HUGELY MISSING my 4Runner and want one back! So now I'm looking at a 2013 4Runner TE and trading the FR-S back to the dealership. Negative equity is my nemesis at the moment and I'm not sure I can pull off a deal. At first the dealership offered me cost price on a new TE, but then talking to the sales manager the other night he said he wanted $1250 profit. I explained certain financial situations which are affecting any deal so I think if they want the $1250 and I'm lowballed on the FR-S then it's all going to be a moot point.
Sigh, I wish I had kept my 4R, but what's done is done. I can only hope the bank finances my negative equity into the new loan.... I can put $3500 down, but that's going to get eaten by the $1250 and any lowballing on my trade in. Sucks......
Wish me luck please!
