Dash indicator = what?

This is a newbie question - can't find my manual right now - can you guys help?
I have a 98 sr5 it has over 125k on it. I recently had an orange dash light indicator that comes on intermittantly every time I perate the vehicle - it says 'check' and has a pic of what looks sort of like a gas pump without the spout part - does this indicate a problem with what? thanks!

low fuel or your gas door is open.

that is a check engine light. Go to autozone and find out what code the ecu is throwing, when the light is on. Sounds like a sensor that is starting to fail.
