Dash Lights wont work post new stereo install

I'll check it out tomorrow. Most likely gonna take it to the shop bc they have voltmeters and stuff. I'll mention the dimmer wire and see what they say. They are pretty much the best shop in Phoenix and really stand behind their work. They will figure out whats going on for sure.

I think the pioneers use the positive dimmer wire, i never had a problem with mines and my customers. Must check the fuses and dimmer switch itself, barrow someone else dimmer switch to verify a bad part.

Ok, so I had this issue when I recently installed my stereo. I followed the wiring from the PAC wiring adapter (even though I didnt end up using it) and I connected my Orange Dimmer switch from the Alpine deck to the Green wire in the stock harness. Now the dash lights are not turning on with the headlights. No idea if the dimmer is actually controlling anything else as most of the bulbs are burned out and I am in the process of swapping over the LEDs.

The blue connectors on the back of the dimmer switch has 5 wires. Does anybody know which 2 I can jump for the lights to be full brightness when the headlights come on?

I pulled out the switch and if this has gone bad it doesn't have any visual evidence.

Anybody know what goes out in these?

Here's a pic of the 5 wires in the connector:

So the lights for the rest still dim but the dash lights are out. What part of this dimmer is problematic for this to happen...does anybody have a clue?

OK, for those who are looking for this info let me lend you a hand

so you have the plug pic from above

here's the other side to that clip w/ the wires

Here is a pic of how the jumper(s) should look according to what I found:

Make sure that you do not have the dimmer switch connected if you jump these or you will blow the 10A fuse for the TAILS.

When you have made the jumper for the connector, simply wrap it in electrical tape and push it in, replace the dimmer switch. The switch is not hooked up at this point, but is there for looks.

I'm not certain what exactly goes wrong inside the dimmer - it is still operational for the center consoles and dims those, but the gauges are gone. With these jumpers in place all the backlighting will be at 100%.

Same thing happened to me. The two oranges connected to each other caused the issue. After lots of troubleshooting fuses etc (none of which were blown) we tried connecting the orange and black on the wiring kit to the black ground wire and left the orange and white wire not connected. Problem solved !
