so0o0o0o..... has nobody done this??? lol i feel it got over looked lol.....

Not overlooked, just been covered a bunch of times already.

I too am wanting to do this and am not sure exactly what to order, but I think you should just use the yotatech thread as a guide, pull your IP apart, and see exactly what you have and order replacements. That's what I am doing.

yeah.... i didnt mean overlooked i guess... i meant covered up lol.... it took me a while to find it lol..... but yeah... i just wasnt sure if someone has done it already and if they could tell me... like EXACTLY what to buy lol...

If the other instrument panel lights are like the one I just replaced behind my A/C controls, they have a little green rubber cover over them. Imagine a light bulb condom. Not sure about the others as I haven't had to change them yet.

Yeah, I think there isn't really and "exactly" what to buy. Several people have bought different things, modified them different ways to spread the light, etc. I am just going to pick some that I think will last a long time, then fight the hotspots that everyone gets with the LED's. I think a good start is any of the multi-directional LED's.

yeah man if yours looks like the one in the pic i dont think i can help you. my HVAC looks a little different otherwise i would be able to tell you exactly what you need

there are threads upon threads here about what bulbs to use but im not sure if ive ever seen one that clears up what a 99 uses. Youtatech is a helpful site allthough be prepared to do a lot of reading. That thread is very long!

As for the hotspots, I know ive said this in a lot of threads, but some of the methods im going to try next time are when I open up my stuff im going to get some of the alluminum looking metal tape stuff and stick it all over there to create a mirror effect and hopefully kill those hot spots.

another meathod would be to use clear sylicone or even wax paper on top of the bulb the make it spread a little more, Ill try these next time i have a burn out

ok kool.... well thanks for your help and info everyone... ill probably order the led's later this week, and maybe even install them.... im pretty sure the bulbs are 74 and 194... ill rad over that thread ONE more time, just to clarify before i purchase!! lol

I ordered from vleds and they work fine. i have a 96 so i dont want to give u the wrong info because im not sure if it's the same sizes as the 99

hey mike! let me know what bulbs u get, the size and website, please!, bc im wanting to do all the gages and control lights, i have an 02 so would the ones u get fit mine??

i believe yours are different from the the 99 did you get that list i posted on your thread?
if not then here for an 01-02
you need 3 #24 bulbs for the dash
#74 for the key ring, cig lighter and glove box
3 Neo Wedge type III for the HVAC and 2 type II for the ECT Defrost and window button

What size bulb for the Park N, drive thingy(had a blank on the word) mines already out but i wanna do that to.

also known as a "T10" bulb, i converted all my dash lights to LED, but was left with a lot of hot spots and its anoying, plus i didnt use the highest quality LEDs and so some have burned out(the diodes just get too hot and melt -i bought a ton of them of ebay for cheap), and some just wont work, like the low fuel light, its is on no matter what so i had to change back to the reg bulb. and the high beam indicator is just too bright and anyoing as an LED so its back to the reg. if anyone knows of a place to get good quality LEDs that wont burn out or how to change the dash to an all white background/backlit that would be sweet. id prefer it to be LED but i really just want to white gauges

i wanna do blue and i have been useing Vleds to, but not for the dash yet, so they are good with no hotspots. even without having to do like tin foil to distribute the light?
