Dashboard crack Repair?

Hey I have a 2000 4Runner and a small (but growing) crack as appeared just infront of the passenger side airbag. What would be the best way to fix this short of buying a new dashboard.

It is not a plastic one but a softer almost leatherish dashboard.

There are interior guys out there that can fix that sort of thing relatively inexpensively.

This is a franchise that seems to be in most major cities. Prices are decent and the guys get training, so you're odds are decent that they might be able to do something positive.


I'm facing a similar affair, and my approach will likely be somewhat different. Coming from much much older cars, the ability to actually buy NEW parts from the MANUFACTURER is not lost on me. Toyota is supporting these vehicles for 15 years (longer than the federally required period), and that time is ending for you very soon. Save up and get the part from one of the online parts vendors (more competitive pricing, and often just a dealership) and be glad you did. Keep the old one, and some time down the road maybe you can get someone to fix it up for you then without having however much down time it takes.
