Dashboard Problem

Hopefully this is the right spot for this question....

I have a 2001 SR5 and my dashboard on the passenger side is coming up. I looked underneath and it looks like one of the clips that holds it on fell off. Does anyone have an suggestions on how to re-secure the dash? Special Glue? Anything? I tried many different types of glue, but none of them seem to hold. Thanks!

That looks like years of exposure to the sun has caused the dash material to warp combined with the use of Armor all. Do you know if Armor all was used on this dash? Do you live in an area where the temperature gets real hot in the summer?

Armor all is your dash's worst enemy. From my personal expeirience I have only seen dashes warp when Armor all is used. I stopped using armor all 17 years ago and have never have had any warpage on my dashboard since.

I have probably used Armor All a maximum of 5 times on the dash. I am not the original owner, but I bought it when it was only 2 years old. Since I bought it, it has been parked in a garage 90% of the time. The dash was fine when I bought it, but one day I just noticed that it popped up and that the clip was broken that holds it down. Any suggestions to repairing it?

I would go to the dealer and see if you can get just the clip that holds down the dash

3M makes acrylic foam adhesive that is in tape form. It is foam lined with plastic, peel one side off, apply tape, peel off other side, put materials in place. Its sold to auto manufacturers, including Toyota to glue on trim pieces and stuff like that. I'm not sure if you can buy any in stores, but ask an auto body shop if you can get the 3M sales rep's. number. He/She should be able to help you out.

Hey thanks! Actually, my neighbor works for 3M in the medical devision, but I'm sure he'll be able to help me locate some 3M tape!
