Dashboard sensor

Does anyone know how to tell if that sensor is fully connected and what it is for? I went to the dealer to have my DRL's turned on and the tech told me that they were already on, but they are not coming on. Does that sensor have anything to do with it???

DRLs aren't on a sensor, they are on all the time when the vehicle is on. The 4th gen doesn't use the headlights as DRLs either, it uses the orange marker lights. The dash sensor is for your auto setting on the headlights. Make sure the light setting on the stalk is on auto and leave it there. The lights will come on when it gets dark enough. You can test it by covering the sensor and waiting a few minutes for them to come on.

oh ok thanks! but on mine I dont have the "auto" feature. I dont think?? I will have to do a double take. I have search the forums for DRL's. its funny how the dealer told me that their computers shows that they are on, but they arent.
