Dashlights flickering

I wanted to ask a question. I seached and could not find anything on this. I noticed that where the clock, fuel range, and HVAC info is at in the center of the dash, the lights have been flickering lately. I am thinking the bulb is loose. Has any one had this problem? I remember reading that they burn out and they need to be replaced. They still work, just flicker.

How much flickering? and does it happen when you look directly at it? I'm asking because I've noticed that out of the corner of your eyes things flicker more like clocks or something.

I've seen mine flicker just a little bit -- can't reliably reproduce it. Discussed with the service manager, who said he's seen instances where moving the dash dimmer switch from low to high a few times clears it up. The only thing he could think of is maybe the dimmer switch gets dirty or a little bit of corrosion on it. I'm not sure that's the cause, but it's quick and easy to try.

Mine did this. I took it apart and made the connections a little better and it seems to have cured the problem.

It's when you look at it directly. I wish i had my camera when i left work tonight. Half of the panel was darker than the other half, then after about 10 minutes, it was fine. I may take it apart and check the contacts.

mine does the same thing...

Same here.. however, sometimes after flickering for a little bit, the backlight suddenly illuminates evenly... I hope the bulb or screen isn't failing

Its just a bad contact. Mine is fine after making the contacts better.

Hi LV4R. When you mean bad contact, do you mean the white plug that connects to that whole center display part or do we have to disassemble the center display and check the contacts between the PCB and screen?
Thanks, Paul
