Database Error - could this maybe be fixed?

So I frequent a lot of forums and this one is by far my favorite. The reason is because there is a lot of good information, but there is also room for me to contribute. I don't have to worry about getting ragged if I post a modification (unless your name is Matt Starr), and it's just a laid back environment.

I really don't want to get banned for complaining but I have some beef with this place too. I am getting these Database Errors way too frequently. Tonight the forum is all but unuseable for me (seriously, I will be thrilled if this message even shows up.) I go to the forum and have to refresh about 10 times before it finally comes up. Once it's up anything I click on means more and more refreshing. I just tried to reply to a post in the 3rd gen forum about 4 times with no success. What's the deal here?

Our new group of Moderators do a great job of cleaning up spam and keeping an eye on threads so that things don't get out of hand here, but it doesn't seem anybody ever even checks the Suggestions forum. The "Huge signatures" thread has been up for weeks before RonMaiden found it, and others "Email Notifications" have been up even longer with absolutely no reply from a moderator. This is a really good forum and I'd hate to see it go down, but I think it's really time for a much needed upgrade in forum software.

I had the same problem today.

But this is the first time this entire year...so it's not bad at all.

Stay in there...it's worth the wait, there's a lot of great information here.

it seems to happen at least one time every time i am on here, it is really getting annoying...
It has been happening for a while, one of the reasons I stopped coming to the forum for almost a year.

I agree. I honestly do not know whats with the site. This Windows 95 version of vBulletin sucks.

Over at Yotatech, they have far more traffic, but I am seeing more and more upgrades.

Who is hosting the site?

The site is almost completely unusable this morning. I'm getting a DB error at least every other click, sometimes a DB error 4 out of 5 times. This is way more than usual (which is still too much IMHO).

It's very frustrating.

Well I must say that since this morning the forum has gotten very speedy and responsive. :bigok:

wow and i thought i was the only one. Then i started using: Down For Everyone? and realized it was actually down. It was ridiculously frequent for the past 3 weeks. now it is a little better. I haven't ever seen it this bad in the 4 years I've been here.
