First off I love your build. I wish I had a salsa red.

Secondly are those the 3d fit weathertech or whatever they call them because yours look really good but when I got the 3d fit I returned them because they fit so poorly. Granted I didn't trim them.

Yes they are the 3D Fit weather tech floor mats. I didn't do any trimming even though they could use some. The fit isn't pretty good! The pas side was hitting when I closed the door but I just pushed the mat down so it would go into the door jam and closed the door and left it for a day and it stayed in that position.

A few weeks ago I finally got around to making a Satoshi grill for my truck. I purchased another grill so I could make one out of so I would ruining my current grill.

I started off by cutting off the center piece off the grill and sanding down the nubs from the factory mess. Then I sanded all of the chrome so the paint would stick to it. I used Bondo to fill in the holes that where on the side and top of the grill (I hate bondo). I did a decent job, if I had more time I could have done a better job. After sanding down all the bondo and surfaces I applied a few coats of primer. While I was waiting for primer to dry to started cutting the steel mesh. I decided to make a wood template and bent the metal around it so the grill would stick out. The bending and the cutting was very time consuming process. At this point it was ready for primer and paint. Once the primer dried on the grill I wet sanded it to get all the imperfections out and I started applying the satin black paint.

When putting the pieces together it was a little difficult finding something that would adhere to keep everything in place. The bent medal held pretty good and I decided to use hot glue and per someone else write up. It held in a few spots but not all of them. In other spots I used an epoxy and once I installed the inside frame that held everything in place.

Here are some pictures of the work performed and the finished product. I may end up doing it again to my other grill since I know what I am doing now.

I am making a trip up to Mammoth Mountain with some friends this weekend so I wanted some good netting to secure everything on the roof. I can across Raingler on the forum and there products look solid so I decided to order one. On their website they don't have one specifically for the 4th Gen roof racks but they do have one for the 5th Gen. I figured everything should be adjustable and I wouldn't have a problem so I bought it. I also picked up a pair of handles to help get up there. I did a test fit with my snowboard bag and it holds really tight and doesn't move at all. Can't wait to get everything up there and to hit the highway. I will post an update after my trip to see how things held up.

I have always wanted the salsa red maybe in the future for now to off road might as well use my 2003 149,00 miles just giving it a full do over for off road then will maybe get a 5th gen.

I think I'm going to copy your lift, tires and wheels. I have an V8, so I'm wondering if the lift will be about the same. Did you have much rubbing? If so, where and what did you have to do to get rid of it? Thanks

I have the V8 and BFG AT KO2 in 275/70r17. Details of my lift are in signature. I am running the 885 coil to support the extra weight of the V8 (currently do not have aftermarket bumper). The tires rubbed a little bit on the front inner fender liner while in reverse turning the wheels, mostly uphill. I just installed Spidertrax 1.25in wheel spacers which have increased rubbing. It's an easy fix as Davy explained, push the liner forward, drill new holes, and re-install using the existing screws. I'll take some before/after photos. Hope this helps.

Hey Davy sweet ride. I just picked up an '08 SE a couple weeks ago and looking to do some mods. I wanted to ask a couple things 1) are you running the TRD 7" wheel or the FN f/x Pro 8" wheel ? Also I looked for the 1.5 spidertrax spacer on their site and only come up with the 1.25. I currently have the toytec 2/1 spacers and looking to put the BFG KO'2 tires on. You have the same size. Any rubbing potential with my set up? Understand I will probably remove the splash guards and move inner liner up. Any guidance would be appreciated thx

Did you have Toytec adjust the front shocks to 2.5" from 3"? I know the front Bilsteins are adjustable by moving the clip under the spring cup. I'm just wondering if you ordered them special. Great 4R btw!

I was reading a lot on how that as is really a over needed rating on our trucks.
most end up lowering tire pressure to almost half the listed 80psi to around 40
to avoid a very harsh ride.
did you experience any of this ?
if so what numbers did you run at and did anything bad come of it ?
I appreciate any info you can give.
I had old bf At on my 91 runner but I don't remember what they were dated and it rode rough anyway -lol

How much pressure is in your tires right now?

80psi is like max pressure. You never should run them anywhere near that. Especially for our lightweight trucks. 30-50 is fine.

yes- sorry I never saw this.
I run about 32 all around and a bit more when towing. seems to be a smooth ride for the most part.
had it at 50 when first got them and thought I was going to chip a tooth

Curious what offset your wheels are?? looking for future wheels to sit just at the wheel wells. Just trying to get ideas of how to achieve that look.
