I am starting trail now with a friend, got delayed and couldn't make it in time.

We ended up hitting it from the 321 side about 11ish. It was nice out there today. Actually better weather than I had hoped for.

I don't recall that spot. Is that on the road, or off on private property?

ON the road I believe, closer to the Sampson rd. side

I'm pretty positive it's part of the road. At least I hope so.

Does the top of that made a sharp turn to the right when coming uphill?

hill is just straight? then a left curve a little after it.

I think I know the hill you are referring to. Its off to the right side of the main trail from the blowing rock side a little ways past the 2nd "playground". Im pretty sure that one IS private property.

Is that on the left just before the white sandy twisty area on the way towards Sampson?

Yes I believe that's were it is, there was a pretty deep water hole at the bottom on the road right before you turn left to go up it.

According to the maps I reference, that area appeared to be on private property. There were some places that looked tempting, but with the tensions building from the owners that border the road, I didn't want to deviate from the verified route.

Thanks for letting us know, I wouldn't of done it if I knew that. I saw a lot of tracks going up that trial and I thought nothing of it.

It's disapointing to see the trash, and spray paint down through there.

I'm going to contact the Sheriff's Dept, and see if I can cut up the burned out jeep, and take it out on my trailer to a recycler.

The trash is disappointing, but unfortunately there is no way to stop it. I guess the only thing to do is pick it up when you see it.

If you get an ok from the Sheriffs Dept. and need a hand, I'm close and always willing to help.

Well my home is in Alexander but I am up here most of the time for college at Haywood community.

Thats cool. I grew up in Waynesville. I wheeled Hurricane Crk and 12 mile strip in 1977 with my old 66 Jeep CJ5. There used too be lots of private property to wheel in Haywood...

I am trying to learn new places to go, There are lot of old service roads up here, hopefully I can get out a do hurricane creek here soon exams this week and rain so doubt I will be able to.
