1. The XREAS is supposedly unserviceable. If you got some air in the system it will be a problem. Just feel out your ride and see if it feels like it has changed.
2. Sway bar bolt...you can simply drill it out and re-tap it...or fish a carriage bolt through the frame with fishing line and re-bolt it up. You can also try putting a pry bar on the corner of the bushing, sometimes if you get enough leverage you can "lock" the nut and get the bolt to come out.
3. The skid plate you can simply drill out and go with a bigger bolt or drill and hit it with a larger self tapping. Not a big deal.
4. Use a hose clamp on the CV...no big deal.
5. YES, the tire is extremely close to the control arm.
$160 bucks to do the rears? You can literally have them done in 20 minutes. The rears are much simpler than the front.
Hey bdp1978 -
Thanks for the response.
- From what I'm reading, it doesn't seem like the XREAS will be repairable. Hopefully after the rear install and alignment things will feel better and tighter so I can properly gauge the feel. Perhaps complete removal and new shocks are in order in the near future. I am at about 186K miles.
- Thanks for the input. I'll give this a shot and perhaps upgrade the sway bar bushings while I'm at it.
- I figured the skid plate would be easy. Thanks for the confirmation.
- Regarding the cv band, I've read a few threads here so I'll put it on my todo list for the near future. Maybe before winter sets in.
- Shew! Okay, so the ride IS that close. I couldn't recall.
Yeah, at this point with my schedule and availability, I'm willing to pay a pro to handle the install. I'll remind him not to touch the XREAS bolts and be mindful of the system. I appreciate the vote of confidence though.
